Beholder an Eclipse champion once again

Spendthrift Farm's dazzling filly Beholder earned her second consecutive Eclipse Award on Saturday evening when she claimed 2013's 3-year-old championship honors. Beholder took the 2012 Eclipse in the 2-year-old filly division.

Beholder is the first filly to garner the two awards since Silverbulletday in 1998-99.

Beholder's stellar 2013 culminated with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1). In addition to her year-end score, she captured the Santa Anita Oaks (G1), Zenyatta S. (G1), Las Virgenes S. (G1), and Torrey Pines S.

Trained by Hall of Famer Richard Mandella, Beholder has amassed $3,075,000 in earnings the past two years. She is a half-sister to Spendthrift stallion Into Mischief.
