Dreamarcher slays foes in Wine Country S.

Saturday, July 30, 2016
Top-five Second-Crop Sire Archarcharch tallied his eighth stakes horse of 2016 on Saturday with Dreamarcher's victory in the $50,000 Wine Country S. at Santa Rosa.

The 3-year-old filly was making just her second stakes start, and first since a three-length loss in the California Oaks in February.

Chasing what would turn out to be a slow half-mile in :51.38, Dreamarcher overcame the disadvantage with a steady run in the final quarter-mile, taking over in mid-stretch and pulling away in final stages.

Dreamarcher is owned by her trainer Jerry Hollendorfer in partnership with Steve Melen, Red Cap Thoroughbreds and Steve Taub. The dark bay filly improved her record to 3-1-3 in 11 starts.

Among Archarcharch's 42 winners (second-most of any Second-Crop sire) are stakes winners Arcature, Toews On Ice and Joan of Arch.
