First crop sire Notional has another maiden winner

Socratical drew away to a 4 ½ length victory Oct. 30 at Turf Paradise to give freshman sire Notional his sixth winner from his first crop. With just 12 runners to date, Notional's 2-year-olds are scoring at an impressive 50% win rate.

Bred by Spendthrift Farm, Socratical is the first foal out of Notimetoquit, a two-time stakes winner of $354,686.

Notional, a graded stakes winner at 2, 3 and 4, broke his maiden at 2 with a 105 Beyer Speed Figure, the second-highest number of his generation. Bred to over 120 mares this year, with a stud fee of $7,500.
