First stakes winner for leading juvenile sire Warrior's Reward

Warrior's Reward, Kentucky's leading juvenile sire, got his first stakes winner on Saturday night when Strawberry Baby annexed the $75,000 Prairie Gold Lassie S. with ease, winning by 7 1/2-lengths (VIDEO).

Strawberry Baby, who broke her maiden with similar ease at Lone Star Park on May 30, is one of five maiden special weight winners from just six starters for Warrior's Reward. Three of his winners have come back to finish second in stakes as well.

Strawberry Baby was prominent throughout the 5 1/2-furlong Lassie, making her winning move at the top of the stretch, drawing off impressively to win under a long hold in 1:04.19.

Bred in Kentucky by Liberation Farm and Brandywine Farm, Strawberry Baby is out of the unraced Theatrical (IRE) mare Kendall Hill, who is a half-sister to four-time stakes winner Denim Yenem.

With Saturday night's victory, Strawberry Baby has earned $56,880 for her owners Brad and Judy Miller, who picked the bay filly out of the 2013 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
