Malibu Moon

Allianna, making just her second lifetime start, emerged victorious in a six-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies Sunday at Del Mar after a heated battle through the first half-mile.

The Flat Out filly marks the 18th winner this year from her sire's first crop and his third in just the past seven days.

Alliana was in a four-way battle for the lead early on as the field made their way into the first turn, then found her way between horses outside the quarter pole to take over the top spot. The chestnut filly handily kept her competition at bay in the stretch, winning by two lengths in 1:11.34.

Allianna is owned by Rockingham Ranch and was bred by Allen Poindexter.
