G1 winner Victor's Cry sires first foal

Monday, February 11, 2013

Victor’s Cry, the Grade 1-winning miler by leading sire Street Cry (Ire), sired his first foal when a bay colt was born on Feb. 8 at Park Stud in Ontario.

Bred by Cavendish Investing, LTD, the colt is out of the accomplished stakes-winning and stakes-producing mare Itstartswithadream, dam of four earners of over $150,000 including stakes horses Dash It Dreamer, Archer’s Dreamer and Archers Dream.

“Our foal is a very nice individual. He’s a strong, correct colt with good bone,” said Michael Byrne, owner of Park Stud. “We'll be very happy if the rest of the Victor's Crys look like this one.”

Victor's Cry was a multiple graded stakes-winning miler who scored his biggest win in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile S. at Hollywood Park. He also won the Grade 2 Citation H. in California, and retired to Park Stud in 2012 with six wins from 24 starts and earnings of $762,021.

By Street Cry out of the Clever Trick mare Short Time, Victor's Cry stands at Park Stud as property of Spendthrift Farm Canada, and his 2013 fee is $5,000 stands and nurses. Victor’s Cry was a participant in Spendthrift’s “Share The Upside” program for breeders.
