Into Mischief

Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Vicar's in Trouble displayed an ultra-impressive turn of foot in a six-furlong maiden special weight affair Dec. 14 at Fair Grounds, controlling the pace en route to a rollicking 13-length win (VIDEO).

The 2-year-old dark bay colt by Into Mischief, who contested the pace for the first quarter mile, asserted himself soon after, pulling away from the field with every stride. He was ultimately eased up under the wire, stopping the timer in 1:10.74 on a “good” main track.

The performance earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 98, the fourth-best of any juvenile in 2013.

Bred by Spendthrift Farm LLC, Vicar's in Trouble is out of the Vicar mare Vibrant, who is a half-sister to Grade 3 Fall Highweight H. winner True Direction.

Vicar's in Trouble is owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, who selected him out of this May's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Spring 2-year-old Sale.

Second-crop sire Into Mischief leads all sophomore sires in the stakes wins category with 14 to date this year, led by Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Goldencents. Into Mischief will stand the 2014 season at Spendthrift for $20,000 LFS&N.
