Into Mischief weanling sells for $85K at Fasig-Tipton

Sunday, November 07, 2010
A weanling filly by Spendthrift stallion Into Mischief brought $85,000 at the Nov. 7 Fasig-Tipton sale held at the Lexington, Ky., auction house. The price was more than eight times the Spendthrift stallion's stud fee.

The filly, hip No. 85, was consigned by Legacy Bloodstock, agent, and bought by B G Stables.

The bay filly is the first foal out of the stakes-placed mare Kid Majic. Kid Majic is a half-sister to J P's Gusto, winner of this year's Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, Grade 2 Best Pal S., and Hollywood Juvenile Championship (G3). The family also includes champion filly and Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Proud Spell.

Into Mischief won the prestigious Grade 1 Hollywood Futurity at age two, turning in the fastest time in the race, 1:40.82, in the past fifteen years. The 5-year-old chestnut was never worse than second in his career, earning nearly $600,000.  His advertised 2010 stud fee was $10,000, LFS&N.
