Saturday, November 10, 2012
Vyjack zipped through 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:15.48 in his career bow Saturday at Aqueduct to give his sire Into Mischief his seventh winner from his first crop. Into Mischief, a top-20 Freshman sire, has two stakes-placed juveniles, including Goldencents, a very game second in the Grade 1 Champagne S. at Belmont Park.

Crosstown at Aqueduct, Vyjack dueled with Clawback for the top spot for most of the race before pulling away in the final furlong for a length and three-quarter victory. The final time was just a little more than a second off the track record of 1:14 1/5.

Vyjack, bred in Kentucky by Machmer Hall, picked up $32,700 for his owner Pick Six Racing. The bay juvenile was purchased by his owner for $100,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale in May.

Vyjack is a half-brother to Prime Cut, runner-up in the 2011 Lexington S. (G3) at Keeneland and third in the Grade 2 Peter Pan S. at Belmont Park.
