Freshman sire Freedom Child got his first winner on June 17 when Limited View cruised to a very sharp-looking 3 3/4-length maiden special weight victory going five furlongs at Laurel Park.
Limited View, Freedom Child's second lifetime starter, picked up $29,640 for trainer John Salzman, Jr., who co-owns the 2-year-old filly with Fred Wasserloos and George Greenwalt.
Limited View was making her racing debut Saturday, and got into stride quickly out of the gate, taking over the lead in less than a sixteenth of a mile, and never relinquished the top spot. Her final time of :57.95 on a fast track was less than a second off the track record.
Freedom Child stands this year at Country Life Farm for $3,000 and is part of the Spendthrift's Share the Upside program. He currently has 36 named 2-year-olds and is Maryland's leading First-Crop Sire.
Limited View was bred by Barbara G. Smith out of the Not For Love mare Loves to Glance.
