Kiss Moon, Malibu Moon’s leading earner of 2014, racked up her second stakes win of the year on Oct. 4 at Indiana Grand in the $100,000 Ta Wee S. for 3-year-old fillies.
Kiss Moon had company in the form of Kiss to Remember the entire one mile trip on the turf, with the duo never separated by more than a length at any point. Remarkably, Kiss Moon never let her challenger get in front, ultimately winning by a length in 1:35.92 on a firm turf course (VIDEO).
Owned by her breeder Carl Pollard, Kiss Moon is now 4-1-2 in 11 starts, earning $266,676. The filly is a half-sister to six-time stakes winner Kiss Mine, out of the Grade 3 winner Kiss the Devil.
Kiss Moon’s victory raised Malibu Moon’s progeny earnings to near the $6 million mark. The Kentucky bred filly is one of nine stakes winners with 11 black-type wins for her sire in 2014.
