Mares pregnant by Spendthrift's trio of new stallions

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

Mares have been confirmed in foal to all three of Spendthrift Farm's new stallions for 2011, including Grade 1 winners Warrior's Reward and Line of David, as well as record-setting graded stakes-winner Temple City.

The first in-foal mare reported for Warrior's Reward is Brandywine Farm's Papalma, a Dixieland Band mare and the dam of multiple graded stakes-winner Aggie Engineer. Line of David, the reigning Arkansas Derby winner, had his first mare confirmed pregnant when Belvedere Farm's Maggie's Pearle checked in foal. And Del Mar track record-holder Temple City got his first in-foal mare confirmed by breeder Sally Thomas, whose Grand Spirit, a Rahy mare from the direct family of Include, recently checked in foal.

Warrior's Reward stands for $15,000, Line of David for $7,500, and Temple City for $5,000.
