Malachite's 2013 debut on Feb. 3 at Aqueduct resulted in the 3-year-old Notional colt stepping out to a two length victory at six furlongs. Malachite has hit the board in three of four career starts and has earned $66,410.
Notional, a top 25 first-crop sire of 2012, is standing the 2013 season at Spendthrift for $7,500 LFS&N.
Bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift, Malachite is the first foal out of Jena's Gold and comes from the same family as stakes winners Jena Jena, With a Wink, and Up Like Thunder.
Malachite was a $42,000 auction purchase at 2012 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.
