Second debut winner for Liaison

Friday, July 7, 2017
First-Crop sire Liaison got his second winner on July 7 at Arlington Park when the colt Pont Du Gard broke his maiden at first asking in a one-mile maiden special weight affair on the turf.

Owned by Wimborne Farm, the dark bay colt rallied from fourth with a furlong to run to score an emphatic two-length victory (VIDEO).

Pont Du Gard is the fourth winner in as many starters for his dam Mi Isabella, who was a two-time stakes winner of nearly $200,000. The winner was bred by Cypress Bend Farm.

Liaison stood for an advertised fee of $5,000 live foal this year at Spendthrift Farm. He was bred to an average of 125 mares his first three years at stud.
