First crop yearlings by undefeated juvenile Tiz Wonderful posted the highest average for any sire at the Keeneland Winter Mixed Sale on January 13.
Three newly turned yearlings were sold during Thursday’s session, and averaged more than double those of any other stallion, including Harlan’s Holiday, Birdstone, Songandaprayer, and Forestry.
Tiz Wonderful was also among the top covering sires at the January sale, and his in-foal mares include a $125,000 purchase from Tuesday's second session.
By Champion Sire Tiznow out of Evil, by Hennessy, Tiz Wonderful was bred to 143 mares in 2010. He is standing the 2011 season for $12,500 live foal, payable when foal stands and nurses.
